MYP Design Teacher

Vietnam Tinh Hoa Senior School: (Opening with UK Year 7,8,9 in August 2025) Located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Full-time position starting in August 2025

Position Overview

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Design teacher to establish and shape a new MYP Design programme. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building strong foundations for mathematical learning in our growing secondary school. This role also involves some teaching in the Primary Section.

Professional qualifications:

• Teaching qualification

• Bachelor's degree in related field

• IB MYP Category 1 training

Professional experience:

• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Design at MYP level

• Exhibit knowledge, enthusiasm and/or experience to teach inquiry and concept-based learning across a blend of history, economics, geography, philosophy, sociology/anthropology, business management, psychology and world religions at IB MYP 1-3 (Year 7-9)

• Experience in curriculum development and design

• Proven track record of student achievement

 Duties & responsibilities:

The core responsibilities will include:

Teaching & Learning:

• Teach MYP Design across grades 7-9

• Provide a limited amount of teaching in the Primary Section to support the STEAM programme.

• Create engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences

• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs

• Assess and report on student progress using MYP criteria

• Integrate technology effectively in Design instruction

Programme Development:

• Establish and document the MYP Design curriculum for Years 7-9

• Support the Primary school in the development of the STEAM programme.

• Develop course outlines, unit plans, and resources

• Create assessment tasks and rubrics aligned with MYP criteria

• Work with other subject teachers to develop interdisciplinary opportunities

• Manage Design resources and budget

• Act as a liaison between the Primary and Secondary schools to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning across phases, particularly in STEAM-related initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the school's pastoral care programme by acting as a form tuttor

• Offer at least one extra-curricular activity

• Participate in whole-school events and duties

• Maintain effective communication with parents

• Engage in continuous professional development

• Complete required safeguarding training

• Report any concerns to the designated safeguarding lead
